The Maize South Mavericks basketball team scored 69 points and limited the visiting Valley Center Hornets to 64 in the Mavericks league triumph on Tuesday.

The Mavericks now have a 10-8 record. They play next when they host Derby for a Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail I game on Friday, February 21. Maize South will confront a Panthers team coming off a 67-63 league loss to Hutchinson (Hutchinson, KS). The Panthers record now stands at 16-1.

With the loss, Valley Center falls to 9-9 on the campaign. The Hornets host South (Salina, KS) to confront the Cougars in a Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail I game on Friday, February 21. The Cougars go into the game with a record of 6-11.
