February 18, 2025: Mattoon, IL 61938 The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes (Teutopolis, IL) and the host Mattoon Greenwave (Mattoon, IL), observed Teutopolis's basketball team knock off Mattoon by a score of 61-51.
The Wooden Shoes (19-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Richland County (Olney, IL). The Tigers come into the non-league challenge with a 14-13 record. In their last challenge, Richland County dropped by Marshall (Marshall, IL), 60-59, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Greenwave battle the Charleston Trojans (Charleston, IL) in a Apollo challenge, on Friday, February 21. Mattoon will attempt to improve on its 8-21 season record. The Trojans come into the challenge with a 11-19 record after their 58-45 non-league loss to Paris (Paris, IL).
