New Mexico High School Basketball - Highland nips Valencia
February 19, 2025: Los Lunas, NM 87031 The crowd at Wednesday's league challenge between the Highland Hornets (Albuquerque, NM) and the host Valencia Jaguars (Los Lunas, NM), observed Highland's basketball team edge Valencia by a score of 48-43.
The Hornets (13-12) will now prepare for their challenge against St. Pius X (Albuquerque, NM). The Sartans come into the 4A District 5 challenge with a 19-5 record. In their last challenge, St. Pius X edged Valencia (Los Lunas, NM), 46-36, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Jaguars battle the Belen Eagles (Belen, NM) in a 4A District 5 challenge, on Friday, February 21. Valencia will attempt to improve on its 9-15 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 10-14 record after their 71-66 league loss to Grants (Grants, NM).
