The Desert Vista Thunder (Phoenix, AZ) basketball edged the host Gilbert Tigers (Gilbert, AZ), 42-40 in Thursday's non-league bout.

The Thunder now possess a 15-12 record. They play next when they travel to Sunnyslope for a non-league bout on Thursday, February 27. Desert Vista will play a Vikings team coming off a 61-50 non-league win over Hamilton (Chandler, AZ). The Vikings record now stands at 19-9.

With the loss, Gilbert falls to 21-7 on the campaign.
