Mingus Marauders (Cottonwood, AZ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Thunderbird Chiefs (Phoenix, AZ), 7-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Marauders now own a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they host Millennium for a non-league challenge on Friday, February 24. Mingus will face a Tigers squad coming off a 9-0 non-league loss to Sunrise Mountain (Peoria, AZ). The Tigers record now stands at 0-1.

With the loss, Thunderbird falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Chiefs travel to Apollo (Glendale, AZ) to face the Hawks in a II Section II challenge on Wednesday, February 29. The Hawks enter the challenge with a record of 0-1.
