North Saxons (Torrance, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Corona del Sol Aztecs (Tempe, AZ), 5-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Saxons now own a 3-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Red Mountain for a non-league challenge on Friday, February 25.

With the loss, Corona del Sol falls to 1-1 on the campaign. The Aztecs host O'Connor (Phoenix, AZ) to face the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 26. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 1-1. O'Connor won 18-5 in their recent non-league challenge against Campo Verde (Gilbert, AZ)
