In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Hampshire Whip-Purs basketball team scored a tight 53-50 triumph over the DeKalb Barbs.

In their next game, the Whip-Purs meet the Rockford Auburn Knights (Rockford, IL) in a non-league match, on Wednesday, March 1. Hampshire will attempt to move on its 17-16 season record. The Knights enter the match with a 21-12 record after their 48-39 non-league win over Guilford (Rockford, IL).

With the defeat, DeKalb moves to 22-11 on the year.
