Payson Lions (Payson, UT) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Desert Hills Thunder (St. George, UT), 51-40 in a non-league game.

In their next game, the Lions face the Ridgeline Riverhawks (Millville, UT) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, February 27. Payson will attempt to move on its 17-7 season record. The Riverhawks enter the game with a 23-2 record after their 66-22 non-league win over Dixie (St. George, UT).

With the defeat, Desert Hills moves to 10-13 on the year.
