Kansas High School Basketball - Metro Academy sneaks past St. James Academy
February 26, 2025: Lenexa, KS 66227 The Metro Academy Mavericks (Shawnee Mission, KS) basketball edged the host St. James Academy Thunder (Lenexa, KS), 63-59 in Wednesday's non-league bout.
The Mavericks now possess a 23-13 record. They play next when they travel to Pleasant Hill for a non-league bout on Thursday, February 27. Metro Academy will play a Roosters/Chicks team coming off a 75-71 league loss to Harrisonville (Harrisonville, MO). The Roosters/Chicks record now stands at 11-15.
With the loss, St. James Academy falls to 8-11 on the campaign. The Thunder travel to Blue Valley Northwest (Overland Park, KS) to play the Huskies in a Eastern Kansas bout on Friday, February 28. The Huskies go into the bout with a record of 13-6. Blue Valley Northwest won 50-37 in their recent league bout against Blue Valley North (Overland Park, KS)
