The Godby Cougars softball team scored 12 runs and limited the visiting Taylor County Bulldogs to 2 in the Cougars league triumph on Wednesday.

With the triumph, Godby improves its record to 2-4 on the year. The Cougars travel to Madison County (Madison, FL) to clash with the Cowboys in a 4A District 2 game on Thursday, February 28. The Cowboys come into the game with a record of 0-4.

In their next game, the Bulldogs clash with the Florida State University Seminoles (Tallahassee, FL) in a 4A District 2 game, on Thursday, February 28. Taylor County will attempt to improve on its 0-2 season record.

Godby Lady Cougars Varsity jumps on Taylor early and coasts to 12-2 win Godby Lady Cougars Varsity refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against Taylor, recording a 12-2 victory on Wednesday at Home.

With eight runs in the first three innings, Godby Lady Cougars Varsity left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A two-run error and a two-run single by Carmella Donatone during the first inning and an error and an RBI single by Tabby Burch in the second inning supplied the early offense for Godby Lady Cougars Varsity.

Burch paced Godby Lady Cougars Varsity at the plate. Burch went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run.

Taylor had no answer for Kyaira Brown, who kept runners off the basepaths in her appearance. Taylor managed just two hits off of the Godby Lady Cougars Varsity's pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out five during her five innings of work.
