In Tuesday's non-league match, the host Thoreau Hawks basketball team scored a good 68-51 triumph over the Newcomb Skyhawks.

In their next game, the Hawks meet the Tohatchi Cougars (Tohatchi, NM) in a non-league match, on Wednesday, February 28. Thoreau will attempt to better on its 14-13 season record. The Cougars enter the match with a 18-8 record after their 82-51 non-league win over Wingate (Fort Wingate, NM).
