McMichael Phoenix (Mayodan, NC) supporters left the game thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad topple the visiting Northern Guilford Nighthawks (Greensboro, NC), 13-1 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, McMichael improves its record to 2-0 on the year. The Phoenix host Northwest Guilford (Greensboro, NC) to play the Vikings in a non-league game on Monday, March 3. The Vikings enter the game with a record of 0-2. Northwest Guilford lost 6-0 in their recent non-league game against Forbush (East Bend, NC)

The Nighthawks now hold a 2-1 record. They play next when they host Ragsdale for a Metro 4A game on Tuesday, March 4. Northern Guilford will play a Tigers squad coming off a 16-9 non-league win over Trinity (Trinity, NC). The Tigers record now stands at 2-0.
