The Piedmont Panthers softball team scored 6 runs and held the visiting Porter Ridge Pirates to 1 in the Panthers non-league win on Friday.

The Panthers now possess a 2-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Monroe for a Rocky River 2A/3A battle on Tuesday, March 4. Piedmont will confront a Redhawks team coming off a 17-2 non-league loss to Hickory Grove Christian (Charlotte, NC). The Redhawks record now stands at 1-1.

With the loss, Porter Ridge moves to 0-3 on the season. The Pirates travel to Providence (Charlotte, NC) to confront the Panthers in a non-league battle on Monday, March 3. The Panthers come into the battle with a record of 2-1. Providence lost 14-4 in their recent non-league battle against Weddington (Matthews, NC)
