The Mount Vernon Tigers (Mount Vernon, TX) softball nipped the visiting New Diana Eagles (Diana, TX), 8-7 in Monday's non-league outing.

The Tigers now sport a 8-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Farmersville for a non-league outing on Thursday, March 6. Mount Vernon will encounter a Farmers team coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Gunter (Gunter, TX). The Farmers record now stands at 5-8.
