Coaches Game Summary

In the opening game of the non-conference season, the 'Player of the Game' goes to Andy Rosales, 3-Time All-Moore League southpaw pitching sensation. Coach John Thompson promised to use Rosales differently than in the past and a well rested Rosales struckout 17 Locke High batters, while allowing just 3 hits, no earned runs, and only 1 walk in a 4-2 win played at CHS. After a closely knotted pitching contest tied at 0-0 thru 3 innings, the 'Babes' of Compton put up a 4 spot thanks to the timely hitting of Robert Navarro, Manny Lopez, 2014 All Moore League performer, Zan Thomas, and clutch hitting of Rosales, put the "Babes' out in front for good. Andy broke his previous strikeout record of 15 against the Dominguez High Dons last season. Coach Thompson has stressed defense in summer, fall, and winter ball and even though the 'Babes' finished with 4 errors against Locke,he says his team will be better defensively, which should keep them in most games. Congrats Andy on a great performance.
