In Wednesday's non-league contest, the Mount Airy Granite Bears (Mount Airy, NC) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Cornerstone Charter Cardinals (Greensboro, NC), by a margin of 13-3.

With the triumph, Mount Airy moves its record to 2-2 on the year. The Granite Bears host East Wilkes (Ronda, NC) to play the Cardinals in a Northwest 1A contest on Tuesday, March 14. The Cardinals come into the contest with a record of 4-0. East Wilkes won 15-4 in their recent non-league contest against North Surry (Mount Airy, NC)

In their next game, the Cardinals play the Southern Guilford Storm (Greensboro, NC) in a non-league contest, on Monday, March 13. Cornerstone Charter will attempt to move on its 0-3 season record. The Storm come into the contest with a 2-2 record after their 12-2 league win over Northeast Guilford (McLeansville, NC).
