Hopewell Titans (Huntersville, NC) backers left the game pleased Thursday as they saw their softball squad thwart the host Mallard Creek Mavericks (Charlotte, NC), 18-2 in a league game.

With the triumph, Hopewell upgrades its record to 3-2 on the year. The Titans host South Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC) to play the Sabres in a non-league game on Monday, March 17. The Sabres enter the game with a record of 5-3.

The Mavericks now own a 2-6 record. They play next when they travel to North Mecklenburg for a Queen City 3A/4A game on Tuesday, March 18. Mallard Creek will play a Vikings squad coming off a 32-17 non-league loss to East Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 2-2.
