The Jena Giants routed the visiting Franklin Parish Patriots softball squad by a final score of 15-9 in Monday's non-league battle.
The Giants (9-4) will now prepare for their battle against Caldwell Parish (Columbia, LA). The Spartans go into the 3A District 3 battle with a 7-6 record.
The Patriots now possess a 9-5 record. They play next when they host Kilbourne for a non-league battle on Tuesday, March 16. Franklin Parish will meet a Hawks squad coming off a 16-6 non-league win over Jonesboro-Hodge (Jonesboro, LA). The Hawks record now stands at 6-4.
