In Tuesday's league match, the host Crest Chargers softball team scored a tight 3-1 victory over the North Gaston Wildcats.

The Chargers (8-1) will now prepare for their match against Ashbrook (Gastonia, NC). The Greenwave go into the Big South 3A match with a 1-7 record. In their last match, Ashbrook by Stuart W. Cramer (Belmont, NC), 16-1, in a league match.

In their next game, the Wildcats battle the Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC) in a non-league match, on Wednesday, March 19. North Gaston will attempt to better on its 3-4 season record. The Patriots go into the match with a 4-6 record after their 23-11 league loss to Hibriten (Lenoir, NC).
