Northwest Cabarrus Trojans (Concord, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Carson Cougars (China Grove, NC), 5-0 in a league challenge.

The Trojans now own a 2-8 record. They take the field next when they host Concord for a South Piedmont 3A challenge on Wednesday, March 23. Northwest Cabarrus will battle a Spiders squad coming off a 20-6 league loss to West Rowan (Mt. Ulla, NC). The Spiders record now stands at 3-7.

With the loss, Carson falls to 3-6 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Hickory Ridge (Harrisburg, NC) to battle the Ragin' Bulls in a South Piedmont 3A challenge on Wednesday, March 23. The Ragin' Bulls enter the challenge with a record of 5-2. Hickory Ridge won 6-3 in their recent league challenge against South Rowan (China Grove, NC)
