Charles D. Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC), 10-0 in a league challenge.

The Warhorses now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Polk County for a Western Highlands 1A/2A challenge on Wednesday, March 24. Charles D. Owen will battle a Wolverines squad coming off a 19-0 league loss to Madison (Marshall, NC). The Wolverines record now stands at 1-2.

With the loss, Mitchell falls to 2-1 on the campaign. The Mountaineers travel to Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC) to battle the Cougars in a Western Highlands 1A/2A challenge on Wednesday, March 24. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 1-0. Mountain Heritage won 14-4 in their recent league challenge against Avery County (Newland, NC)
