Spectators at Tuesday's league battle between the Laney Buccaneers (Wilmington, NC) and the host West Brunswick Trojans (Shallotte, NC), saw Laney's baseball squad edge West Brunswick by a margin of 7-6.

Coming up next, the Buccaneers play the Ashley Screaming Eagle (Wilmington, NC) in a Mideastern 3A/4A battle, on Friday, March 25. Laney will attempt to better on its 4-3 season record. The Screaming Eagle enter the battle with a 4-3 record after their 1-0 league win over Topsail (Hampstead, NC).
