Lake Nona Lions (Orlando, FL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Lake Howell Silver Hawks (Winter Park, FL), 6-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Lions now own a 9-1 record. They take the field next when they host The First Academy for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 30. Lake Nona will battle a Royals squad coming off a 12-0 non-league win over Boone (Orlando, FL). The Royals record now stands at 8-4.

With the loss, Lake Howell falls to 6-8 on the campaign. The Silver hawks host Heritage (Palm Bay, FL) to battle the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 30. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 4-8. Heritage won 11-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Satellite (Satellite Beach, FL)
