Ponchatoula Green Wave (Ponchatoula, LA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Slidell Tigers (Slidell, LA), 6-2 in a league challenge.

The Green Wave now own a 17-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Archbishop Hannan for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 27. Ponchatoula will battle a Hawks squad coming off a 14-4 league win over Loranger (Loranger, LA). The Hawks record now stands at 20-4.

With the loss, Slidell falls to 20-5 on the campaign. The Tigers host Covington (Covington, LA) to battle the Lions in a 5A District 6 challenge on Thursday, March 28. The Lions enter the challenge with a record of 13-11. Covington won 7-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy (Avondale, LA)
