R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting East Rutherford Cavaliers (Forest City, NC), 4-2 in a league bout.

The Hilltoppers now possess a 7-1 record. They take the field next when they host Freedom for a non-league bout on Wednesday, March 30. R-S Central will face a Patriots team coming off a 16-5 league win over Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC). The Patriots record now stands at 5-6.
