Monta Vista Matadors (Cupertino, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Wilcox Chargers (Santa Clara, CA), 6-5 in a league challenge.

The Matadors now own a 6-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Los Gatos for a De Anza challenge on Friday, April 1. Monta Vista will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 6-0 league loss to Homestead (Cupertino, CA). The Wildcats record now stands at 5-6.

With the loss, Wilcox falls to 5-6 on the campaign. The Chargers travel to Branham (San Jose, CA) to face the Bruins in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 2. The Bruins enter the challenge with a record of 2-10. Branham won 4-1 in their recent league challenge against Prospect (Saratoga, CA)
