Long Rebels (Skipperville, AL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Ariton Purple Cats (Ariton, AL), 4-0 in a league challenge.

The Rebels now own a 10-8 record. They take the field next when they host Slocomb for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 8. Long will battle a Red Tops squad coming off a 8-2 non-league win over Pike Liberal Arts (Troy, AL). The Red Tops record now stands at 16-2.

With the loss, Ariton falls to 13-9 on the campaign. The Purple cats host Goshen (Goshen, AL) to battle the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 5. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 3-9. Goshen lost 17-1 in their recent league challenge against Zion Chapel (Jack, AL)
