Nitro Wildcats (Nitro, WV) supporters left the game thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad topple the host Capital Cougars (Charleston, WV), 14-3 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Nitro improves its record to 2-10 on the year. The Wildcats travel to Huntington (Huntington, WV) to face the Highlanders in a non-league game on Tuesday, April 7. The Highlanders enter the game with a record of 3-8. Huntington won 12-5 in their recent league game against South Charleston (South Charleston, WV)

The Cougars now hold a 2-10 record. They play next when they travel to St. Albans for a Mountain State game on Thursday, April 9. Capital will face a Red Dragons squad coming off a 17-6 league loss to Hurricane (Hurricane, WV). The Red Dragons record now stands at 6-8.
