In Friday's league game, the host Dixon Bulldogs baseball team scored a close 5-4 win over the Richlands Wildcats.

The Bulldogs (8-7) will now prepare for their game against West Carteret (Morehead City, NC). The Patriots come into the Coastal 5A/6A contest with a 9-6 record. In their last contest, West Carteret was edged by McMichael (Mayodan, NC), 4-2, in a non-league contest.

The Wildcats now possess a 4-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Havelock for a Coastal 5A/6A contest on Tuesday, April 14. Richlands will confront a Rams squad coming off a 8-6 non-league loss to Martin County (Williamston, NC). The Rams record now stands at 8-6.
