The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the Larkin Royals (Elgin, IL) and the visiting Hoffman Estates Hawks (Hoffman Estates, IL), observed Larkin's softball team prevail over Hoffman Estates by a tally of 14-4.

The Royals (5-4) will now prepare for their bout against Bartlett (Bartlett, IL). The Hawks go into the Upstate Eight bout with a 2-6 record. In their last bout, Bartlett was routed by Palatine (Palatine, IL), 11-0, in a non-league bout.
