Iowa High School Soccer - Mt. Vernon toppled by West Liberty
April 11, 2025: Mt. Vernon, IA 52314 West Liberty Comets (West Liberty, IA) boosters exited the stadium pleased Friday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the host Mt. Vernon Mustangs (Mt. Vernon, IA), 6-0 in a non-league test.
With the triumph, West Liberty moves its record to 7-1 on the campaign. The Comets host Cascade (Cascade, IA) to clash with the Cougars in a River Valley test on Monday, April 14. The Cougars come into the test with a record of 0-1. Cascade lost 3-1 in their recent league battle against Beckman (Dyersville, IA)
Next up, the Mustangs battle the Solon Spartans (Solon, IA) in a WaMaC-East battle, on Tuesday, April 15. Mt. Vernon will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record.
