Spectators at Wednesday's non-league match between the Chaparral Firebirds (Scottsdale, AZ) and the visiting Horizon Huskies (Scottsdale, AZ), witnessed Chaparral's softball squad tip Horizon by a count of 4-3.

The Firebirds now sport a 5-5 record. They play next when they travel to O'Connor for a 6A Desert Valley match on Thursday, April 15. Chaparral will meet a Eagles squad coming off a 9-5 non-league win over Desert Vista (Phoenix, AZ). The Eagles record now stands at 8-2.

With the loss, Horizon moves to 5-4 on the season. The Huskies travel to Campo Verde (Gilbert, AZ) to meet the Coyotes in a non-league match on Thursday, April 15. The Coyotes go into the match with a record of 3-7. Campo Verde lost 15-2 in their recent league match against Casteel (Queen Creek, AZ)
