The Charles D. Owen Warhorses routed the host Mitchell Mountaineers softball squad by a final score of 14-3 in Wednesday's league battle.
The Warhorses (4-2) will now prepare for their battle against Polk County (Columbus, NC). The Wolverines go into the Western Highlands 1A/2A battle with a 2-6 record. In their last battle, Polk County was routed by Madison (Marshall, NC), 19-5, in a league battle.
The Mountaineers now possess a 2-5 record. They play next when they host Mountain Heritage for a Western Highlands 1A/2A battle on Monday, April 19. Mitchell will meet a Cougars squad coming off a 10-0 league win over Avery County (Newland, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 5-1.
