In Tuesday's league game, the visiting South Caldwell Spartans baseball team scored a close 13-10 win over the Ashe County Huskies.

The Spartans (18-1) will now prepare for their game against Hibriten (Lenoir, NC). The Panthers go into the Northwestern 3A/4A game with a 11-7 record. In their last game, Hibriten by Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC), 7-3, in a league game.

Next, the Huskies play the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) in a Northwestern 3A/4A game, on Thursday, April 17. Ashe County will attempt to improve on its 9-10 season record. The Pioneers go into the game with a 9-11 record after their 11-1 league win over Freedom (Morganton, NC).
