The crowd at Friday's league match between the Mt. Shasta Bears (Mt. Shasta, CA) and the host Modoc Braves (Alturas, CA), saw Mt. Shasta's softball squad nip Modoc by a count of 7-1.

The Bears now sport a 16-2 record. They take the field next when they host Tulelake for a Shasta Cascade match on Tuesday, April 20.

With the loss, Modoc falls to 4-2 on the campaign. The Braves host Fall River (McArthur, CA) to face the Bulldogs in a Shasta Cascade match on Friday, April 23. The Bulldogs enter the match with a record of 9-5. Fall River lost 11-4 in their recent non-league match against Quincy (Quincy, CA)
