Virginia High School Softball - Menchville knocked off by Gloucester
April 18, 2024: Newport News, VA 23602 In Thursday's league contest, the Gloucester Dukes (Gloucester, VA) softball team overwhelmed the host Menchville Monarchs (Newport News, VA), by a margin of 15-0.
With the triumph, Gloucester moves its record to 7-0 on the year. The Dukes travel to Bethel (Hampton, VA) to play the Bruins in a Peninsula contest on Tuesday, April 23. The Bruins come into the contest with a record of 5-5. Bethel lost 12-2 in their recent league contest against Kecoughtan (Hampton, VA)
In their next game, the Monarchs play the Deep Creek Hornets (Chesapeake, VA) in a non-league contest, on Monday, April 22. Menchville will attempt to move on its 5-4 season record. The Hornets come into the contest with a 8-1 record after their 10-1 league win over Oscar Smith (Chesapeake, VA).
