The Independence Patriots softball squad (Coal City, WV), was routed 10-3 in Thursday's non-league contest with the host Hurricane Redskins (Hurricane, WV)

With the triumph, Hurricane improves its record to 15-9 on the year. The Redskins host Riverside (Belle, WV) to face the Warriors in a Mountain State contest on Tuesday, May 12. The Warriors enter the contest with a record of 20-9. Riverside won 3-1 in their recent league contest against Huntington (Huntington, WV)
