April 16, 2026: St. Albans, WV 25177

The Independence Patriots softball team scored 12 runs and held the host St. Albans Red Dragons to 1 in the Patriots non-league win on Thursday.

The Patriots now sport a 12-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to River View for a Coalfield A battle on Friday, April 17. Independence will confront a Raiders team coming off a 12-2 non-league loss to Grundy (Grundy, VA). The Raiders record now stands at 5-6.

With the loss, St. Albans moves to 9-11 on the season. The Red dragons travel to Parkersburg (Parkersburg, WV) to confront the Big Reds in a Mountain State battle on Friday, April 17. The Big Reds come into the battle with a record of 8-9. Parkersburg won 15-0 in their recent league battle against South Charleston (South Charleston, WV)
