Triton Hawks (Erwin, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Southern Lee Cavaliers (Sanford, NC), 18-8 in a league challenge.

The Hawks now own a 7-2 record. They take the field next when they host Western Harnett for a Tri-County 3A challenge on Friday, April 23. Triton will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 7-2 league loss to Harnett Central (Angier, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 4-5.

With the loss, Southern Lee falls to 2-8 on the campaign. The Cavaliers travel to Union Pines (Cameron, NC) to battle the Vikings in a Tri-County 3A challenge on Friday, April 23. The Vikings enter the challenge with a record of 3-4. Union Pines won 10-2 in their recent non-league challenge against North Moore (Robbins, NC)
