Tennessee High School Soccer - Cherokee toppled by Cocke County
April 24, 2025: Newport, TN 37821 Cocke County Fighting Cocks (Newport, TN) backers exited the stadium pleased Thursday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Cherokee Chiefs (Rogersville, TN), 10-2 in a non-league test.
With the triumph, Cocke County advances its record to 7-6 on the campaign. The Fighting Cocks host Austin-East (Knoxville, TN) to clash with the Roadrunners in a AA District 3 test on Thursday, May 1. The Roadrunners come into the test with a record of 2-8.
The Chiefs now have a 10-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Volunteer for a AA District 2 test on Tuesday, April 29. Cherokee will clash with a Falcons team coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Cumberland Gap (Cumberland Gap, TN). The Falcons record now stands at 8-5.
