In Friday's non-league game, the visiting Wayne Pioneers baseball team scored a close 2-1 win over the Sherman Tide.

The Pioneers (6-13) will now prepare for their game against Centerburg (Centerburg, OH). The Trojans go into the non-league game with a 6-4 record.

Next, the Tide play the Tug Valley Panthers (Williamson, WV) in a Freelance game, on Monday, April 27. Sherman will attempt to improve on its 14-6 season record. The Panthers go into the game with a 11-11 record after their 4-1 non-league win over Mingo Central (Matewan, WV).
