Elgin Comets (Marion, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Ridgemont Golden Gophers (Mount Victory, OH), 9-0 in a league challenge.

The Comets now own a 13-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Perry for a Northwest Central challenge on Wednesday, April 26. Elgin will battle a Commodores squad coming off a 14-9 league loss to Waynesfield-Goshen (Waynesfield, OH). The Commodores record now stands at 3-8.

With the loss, Ridgemont falls to 4-13 on the campaign. The Golden gophers host Perry (Lima, OH) to battle the Commodores in a Northwest Central challenge on Thursday, April 27. The Commodores enter the challenge with a record of 3-9. Perry lost 13-0 in their recent league challenge against Elgin (Marion, OH)
