North Carolina High School Softball - Charles D. Owen bounces Avery County
Charles D. Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Avery County Vikings (Newland, NC), 15-6 in a league challenge.
The Warhorses now own a 7-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Madison for a Western Highlands 1A/2A challenge on Wednesday, April 28. Charles D. Owen will battle a Patriots squad coming off a 7-3 league win over Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC). The Patriots record now stands at 8-3.
With the loss, Avery County falls to 1-8 on the campaign. The Vikings host Mitchell (Bakersville, NC) to battle the Mountaineers in a Western Highlands 1A/2A challenge on Wednesday, April 28. The Mountaineers enter the challenge with a record of 2-9. Mitchell lost 12-3 in their recent league challenge against Polk County (Columbus, NC)
