Spectators at Thursday's league battle between the Hoggard Vikings (Wilmington, NC) and the host Ashley Screaming Eagle (Wilmington, NC), saw Hoggard's baseball squad knock off Ashley by a count of 7-1.

Coming up next, the Vikings play the Myers Park Mustangs (Charlotte, NC) in a non-league battle, on Saturday, April 29. Hoggard will attempt to move on its 14-6 season record. The Mustangs enter the battle with a 16-5 record after their 4-1 league win over Olympic (Charlotte, NC).

The Screaming Eagle now possess a 10-11 record. They take the field next when they travel to Topsail for a Mideastern 3A/4A battle on Tuesday, May 2. Ashley will play a Pirates squad coming off a 4-1 league loss to New Hanover (Wilmington, NC). The Pirates record now stands at 13-7.
