Pike Central Chargers (Petersburg, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Evansville Memorial Tigers (Evansville, IN), 4-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Chargers now own a 15-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Vincennes Lincoln for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 1. Pike Central will battle a Alices squad coming off a 12-2 league loss to Evansville Reitz (Evansville, IN). The Alices record now stands at 5-11.

With the loss, Evansville Memorial falls to 6-9 on the campaign. The Tigers host Boonville (Boonville, IN) to battle the Pioneers in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 29. The Pioneers enter the challenge with a record of 5-5. Boonville won 11-0 in their recent league challenge against South Spencer (Rockport, IN)
