The Sugar Valley Rural Phoenix baseball team scored 13 runs and held the visiting Montgomery Red Raiders to 7 in the Phoenix league win on Thursday.

The Phoenix now hold a 4-8 record. They take the field next when they host Sullivan County for a Mid-Penn D4 test on Saturday, May 3. Sugar Valley Rural will play a Griffins team coming off a 19-1 league loss to Millville (Millville, PA). The Griffins record now stands at 3-9.

With the defeat, Montgomery drops to 9-4 on the year. The Red raiders travel to Selinsgrove (Selinsgrove, PA) to play the Seals in a non-league test on Saturday, May 3. The Seals go into the test with a record of 3-11. Selinsgrove lost 7-2 in their recent league test against Williamsport (Williamsport, PA)
