Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA) fans left the game pleased Friday as they observed their baseball squad achieve victory over the host Chatham Cavaliers (Chatham, VA), 14-0 in a league match.

With the triumph, Nelson County advances its record to 6-6 on the season. The Governors host William Campbell (Naruna, VA) to battle the Generals in a Dogwood match on Wednesday, May 7. The Generals come into the match with a record of 3-12. William Campbell lost 10-9 in their recent league match against Altavista (Altavista, VA)

The Cavaliers now have a 1-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host Halifax County for a non-league match on Monday, May 5. Chatham will battle a Comets squad coming off a 11-0 league win over Tunstall (Dry Fork, VA). The Comets record now stands at 11-6.
