New York High School Baseball - Cristo Rey loses to LaSalle Academy
May 3, 2022: Brooklyn, NY In Tuesday's league game, the visiting LaSalle Academy Cardinals baseball team scored a nice 16-0 victory over the Cristo Rey .
The Cardinals (4-6) will now prepare for their game against Nazareth (Brooklyn, NY). The Kingsmen go into the Catholic B game with a 1-1 record. In their last game, Nazareth overcame Sacred Heart (Yonkers, NY), 14-3, in a league game.

Brooklyn, NY – The La Salle Cardinals traveled to Brooklyn and wasted no time, batting around twice in the first inning while scoring 15 runs and soundly defeating overmatched Cristo Rey Brooklyn 16-1 in five innings at American Legion Field. The win evens La Salle’s CHSAA ‘A’ divisional record to 3-3 at the midpoint of the season.
Sophomore Manuel Ramirez got the win with the first No-Hitter of his La Salle career. Ramirez’ final stat line was 5 innings, 0 Hits, 13 strikeouts and 2 walks, that was good enough to earn him the Angry Bird as the Cardinal’s player of the game. On offense, La Salle was led by Damien Maldonado and Alex Dayle who had two hits and two RBIs apiece.
On Deck: The Cardinals travel back to American Legion for a Friday matchup against Nazareth Regional High School. First pitch is 4:30pm.
