In Thursday's non-league game, the visiting Mapleton Mounties baseball team scored a close 3-2 win over the Bucyrus Redmen.

The Mounties (1-15) will now prepare for their game against Smithville (Smithville, OH). The Smithies go into the non-league game with a 10-8 record. In their last game, Smithville was tipped by Norwayne (Creston, OH), 5-2, in a league game.

Next, the Redmen play the Wynford Royals (Bucyrus, OH) in a Northern 10 game, on Friday, May 8. Bucyrus will attempt to improve on its 3-16 season record. The Royals go into the game with a 9-8 record after their 8-0 league loss to Carey (Carey, OH).
