May 8, 2025: Elgin, MN 55964 The Zumbrota-Mazeppa Cougars baseball team scored 5 runs and held the host Plainview-Elgin-Millville Bulldogs to 3 in the Cougars non-league win on Thursday.
The Cougars now hold a 7-7 record. They take the field next when they host Kasson-Mantorville for a Hiawatha Valley test on Friday, May 9. Zumbrota-Mazeppa will play a Komets team coming off a 9-3 league loss to Byron (Byron, MN). The Komets record now stands at 5-6.
With the defeat, Plainview-Elgin-Millville drops to 6-8 on the year. The Bulldogs host Lourdes (Rochester, MN) to play the Eagles in a non-league test on Saturday, May 10. The Eagles go into the test with a record of 7-5. Lourdes won 13-0 in their recent non-league test against Blooming Prairie (Blooming Prairie, MN)
